Small Groups are:
Small. 8 to 12 adults. More than that, it becomes more of a lecture with only a few people participating. Fewer than 5 and it becomes more of a conversation between friends.
Guided discussion. Intentional, not “ad hoc.” Pray for each other. It has a clear purpose. Other kinds of groups can meet without any plan, just to visit, but those are not the kinds of groups we want to focus on starting.
Why are small groups so important?
Small groups help us “learn to live in love” in ways a large meeting can’t. Groups go deeper, beneath the surface of relationships, where people can know and be known, love and be loved.
When and where do groups meet?
Groups usually meet in homes, although some may choose to meet in other locations (a clubhouse, church building, etc.). Most meet in the evening for about an hour and a half. Many choose to eat dinner together as part of the group meeting, others have light refreshments.
Getting Involved - If you would like to join a Small Group, call our office at 210-688-3002. Feel free to contact a leader directly about joining their group.
Can I be a leader? - Sure! We are always looking for new group leaders and would love to have you become a leader. Contact the church office at 210-688-3002, for more information on becoming a leader.
